What is Kona Abalone?

Kona Abalone comes from the Japanese Ezo Abalone strain, known as the most precious species in Japan. With over 20 years of research, we found that the Kona Coast is the best place in the world to grow Hawaiʻi’s only premium abalone.

As the youngest and largest island in the Hawaiian isles, Hawaiʻi’s Big Island continues to grow with its volcanic activity. As a result, the surrounding sea is quite deep, offering access to pure, cold and clean deep sea water off the Kona Coast—the best and most pristine in the world.

With over 300 sunny days, the island’s weather also proved optimal in the growth of our Dulse algae, the best feed for our abalone.

Today, our Kona Abalone is proudly featured on menus throughout the country in prestigious restaurants.
